It's lodged in your subconscious somewhere :D Weird story - When I was designing my comic character Chris, a boy genius, I went through about a hundred rough sketches before I got the hair and face right for the 1977 look I wanted, and something still didn't work... Then finally I drew him in his broad striped shirt and it was perfect. A week later, we're watching an old Disney TV movie-of-the-week from the early 70's, which I suddenly remembered vividly, and not only was the boy genius a perfect face/hair match for my comic character, but he was wearing the same shirt and pants. :O Our mental associations are weird sometimes.
